When you hear the word 'veterinary', you probably think of animals. And rightly so, as veterinary medicine is the branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease in animals of all kinds, from family pets to farm and zoo animals. What you may not know is that vets also contribute to human public health by working to control zoonotic diseases - those that are transmitted from non-human animals to humans, such as Lyme disease and West Nile virus. The scope of veterinary medicine is broad, covering all animal species, both domesticated and wild, with a range of conditions that can affect different species.
Veterinary medicine is regulated in a similar way to human medicine, with the quality, safety and efficacy of veterinary medicines regulated in the context of new applications, extensions and variations. Marketing authorisation dossiers for veterinary medicinal products are evaluated by internal and external experts and by the Veterinary Medicines Expert Committee.
At Wirz & Partners, we not only recruit veterinarians, our own processes are fully digitalised. We use and leverage all of our expertise in our Ident and Executive research process.
